Project : Cash Remittance System
An Online transaction Processing System for various kinds of tax collection.
The system involves transaction screens for different kinds of taxes and
reports to reflect the cash collection and cash collected by tax
type summary. Developed
for Inland Revenue department of Govt. Of Jamaica ( West Indies).
Software Used: Powerbuilder 5.0 , Informix and SQL Anywhere .
Roll in the project:

Writing Ping simulation program for checking the network before transaction
processing .The program used ICMP API , and was
written using Watcom C++ , as a C++ user object .This used windows messages
to communicate to the main application , which would save to local/remote
database on network availability.

Writing receipt generation logic for multiple cashiers , through a fixed
range assignment .

ProjectsEconomic Value Added (EVA) - A system developed
to measure the financial performance of the company at various geographic
as well as business levels by evaluating the profit at various levels and
deducting the capital charge as well as the expenses. The aim of the system
was to point out the profit as well as the loss from different units of
the company, which helped in separating the profit making units from the
loss making ones. The database was maintained in Sybase and Powerbuilder
was used to develop client application.

and performing validations through stored procedures

Writing stored procedures to perform validations on existing data in database
and producing error reports(checklists)

Developing data entry screens for master files using data windows and performing
run time validations through powerscript coding.

Developed a mail enabled automated query system for the EVA database.
The system was designed to send automatic reply to any query received
through email,
building the query from the data received, retrieving data from the
database and packing the data into DBF files and sending it to the mailer.

Developed routine to read mail from inbox, extract the data from
Excel spreadsheet using OLE Automation and passing the data to stored procedures.

Developed routine for sending the packed DBF file to the mailer.

A system developed to maintain invoicing information of international
subsidiaries of NIIT Ltd.

Developing data entry screens for master files using datawindow customized
by inheriting from u_dw.

Developed a generalized class user object to handle validations for datawindows,
containing functions for primary key validations, and validations for employee
records. This was used as a validation service through out the application.

Developed reports using customized datawindow from u_dw to handle general
report requirements.
